Now you see it, now you don't

The nasty wood paneling comes off the wall (see the glue marks? see the paneling on the floor behind them?)  We chose to rip it off and then rip off the dry wall and replace instead of paint the paneling.  Old buddy Jason was the mastermind behind designing the new entry way we will rip out of the wall to create a new entrance to the hidden den.
Jason working the next day.  I brought him peanut butter and jelly along with my kids and their sack lunches. See the new entry way already???

The other wall that another friend, Eric helped rip out.  I am glad Dave has strong, smart friends.

Those two by fours above the half wall are gone now.
That will be a barstool area over into the dining room.

I am going over to finish painting the inside of the closets in the upstairs today.  Every room is painted now and all of that hideous oak trim (sorry 1970's).  that trim about killed me.  Carpet goes in tomorrow.  Hey, anyone ever install a pocket door?  We want to install one in the kid's bathroom.  I just don't know if that is a DIY project or if that should be hired out.

PS -- Remember my friend Jenny the home renovator?  Her home was featured in the newspaper -- check it out here.

PPS-- Remember my friend Caitlin and baby Felix?  Felix goes in for his long awaited spina bifida surgery this morning.  Please keep the family and sweet Felix in yor prayers.

Matt installed a pocket door in our basement. He could probably help out if you need it. I'm excited to see all these fun changes! You'll have to put together a photo album of before and afters. :)

Dave can totally do a pocket door. You just buy the kit to put it in. Have him ask Jason or his dad who have both done it multiple times.
