typical morning at 1977
During a rather long walk/bike ride excursion today, we finally introduced ourselves to a neighbor mom that I have been meaning to stop by and say hello to for a while now. She just had her ninth child. She invited us in. As soon as we stepped in, Oliver asked her for a drink. I was embarrassed. She got him a drink of water and then before he took a drink he asked her where her costumes were.
excuse my son while he makes himself at home.

my sweet oliver. Honey you better be there for him on that fatefull day when he finds out the hard reality - that not every house has s costume box. But for now we will enjoy every last picture and grin.
BWaaa ha ha! Awww. Those awkward but funny mommy moments. So, in lieu of your last post's comments, I had to add another thing--- because of you, I have a huge Ikea mixing bowl that I set in the kitchen sink for Lukas to play with all his little plastic animals. It's genious really. He can stand on that step stool for a long ol time just a playin' in that water. I remember you as a teacher, and there will be people now who may say you are tootin' your own horn, but you like CREATED the 'horn' so why not toot it?? I remember you as an AMAZING, dynamic, creative teacher. You were definitely a fav, and man, the sendoff you had -- being compared to stargirl-- yes. You are amazing. Like Stargirl. People can say what they want but it will not change who you are and you don't have to give excuses or explanations for your awesomeness. It is what you are and when I see you've updated, I always click on you first- you see, my little man is almost 3. He's my first one. And since I was a teacher too, I know the teacher mantra. Beg, borrow, and steal. I am SO happy to get your ideas and use em for this little man, who is my special little pea in the pod of this family. Why wouldn't I try your ideas? Seriously.
mom -- so far so good, everyone seems to have something. this mom said she has "lots of costumes" but we will have to go back another day and play with them. she was great. It will be a sad day for me when he doesn't want to go to the store dressed like buzz lightyear.
Jess, thank you. you are always too nice to me. I am glad that we are still friends. you inspired me! You turned that PE program around! They were so excited to go! That was unusual! You had them setting goals and doing great things! I am so happy to have teacher friends from my previous life still around. You are a good friend. I am glad you have been able to use some of my ideas.
I guess I better get some boy get ups before you come to visit...all I've got are princess tiaras and jewelry!
love it.
This is exactly why I love reading your blog! Your boys are so cute and funny! Tiffany...this is Kara...old time camping buddy! :) I came across a link to your blog awhile back on facebook, and love checking in on you guys! You are so creative and entertaining, so thanks for still posting! Just thought I'd let you know I appreciate your cute posts and hopefully its okay that I'm a reader! Hope you are doing well! :)
that's awesome
See. You're raising your kids right. My Langston would walk in and ask where the computer was and if he could help download the newest version of some gaming software for her. :) Imagination. Playing. Having fun without being plugged in. Good job!
Do you think he feels stronger without his shirt on? I know I do.
okay cortney, that is hilarious. you crack me up.
Did you originally post when someone else was logged in? a roommate or something? At first I was weirded out by a random commenter and then when you reposted it, it made sense.
haha...yeah, I didn't realize my roommate was signed on. That would be creepy.
That's my idea of a superhero. Love it!
HAHAHA soooo funny. Have you ever read the book If You Give a Mouse a Cookie? This totally reminds me of that book. Love him!
