This confession doesn't really have to do with Sunday, but it is a confession nonetheless:
I would love to put Max in dance.
He is so infectious. And the kid loves it. You should see the light in his eyes as he watches Dick van Dyke. Oliver is infectious too, in a different special way. That kid is a crack up. I would definitely see Oliver as more of the tapping Jackie Gleason type than a Freddy or a Kelly.
And while I am at it I also have to admit that although Shirley Temple and Mr. Bojangles are pretty darn cute, so are two old comedians having a tap-off. What is cuter than a tap dancing old man? seriously folks, tell me. Is it wrong that I want Max to be a tap dancing old man?
(can you tell we had fun on youtube???)
Well, tonight, after a long week of us all being super sick, my little dancers slipped on their favorite footsie pajamas and soft shoe-d it to Maple Leaf Rag. Looks like they are on the mend.
And now you vote --- sign the kid up or what???? (okay and I know these are my kids and the video is over 2 minutes, but you have to get through it because it gets funnier and funnier, I promise-- and you can click on it to make it bigger)

I say do.
Definitely do. That was hilarious.
He could be the next Benji Schwimmer!
Our vote: Put that boy in Tap!
do. oliver is hilarious. the best is when he comes from the corner again after max has pushed him away. too funny.
Love it! you should put him in tap! I love that oliver keeps creeping back into the camera with his little head bobble...hahaha!!! and max just keeps going...and then starts pushing him away! Ahhh...he would probably be great (though whe we took it, I thought it was so hard...lol)
KAtie, you mean when YOU ook it? I was totally the tap class drop out. That was a hard summer for me! I actually let Max and Oliver play with my tap shoes today -- they LOVED them.
And I know, Oliver's little head bobbly thing back into the camera like 5 times was making me laugh sooo hard. And then Max's face every time he pushes him out is sooo funny, like nothing is going to stop him. and then Oliver throws the blanket at him at the end because he is just fed up with the camera hog. ha.
I really think I might put him in it. but he would never go for it in an all girls tap class. I will have to ask Leslie or Sarah if there is such a thing as an all boys tap class.
*took, not ook. woops :)
you know how I feel about boys dancers...do!
HAHAHA dying. Those boys are sooo fun. They will totally look back on that video and crack up!! And I think that putting boys in dance is great! It teaches them great skills like coordination and how to use their body that will not only help them be great dancers, but great at sports, too!
They look like naturals to me: I totally would! Thanks for sharing this, it made me laugh!
YES!! Boy dancers!! YES!! I regret that our culture makes it seem kind of weird to enroll a little boy in a dance class, but in my experience my son is just as interested in it as my daughter(s) have been. It's just a common childhood interest I think and it never hurts to allow him that! I vote yes! (did I say that already??)
