Me, Rumpelstiltskin

When this guy gets an idea you better watch out.  After making a couple capes and superhero masks, a Halloween costume and a paper hat or two this guy thinks I can make anything his little heart desires.

One day he got a whim and wanted to ride a horse.  He went up to The Magic Room and took out a spool of black thread.  He brought it to me and said
"Make it."
"Make what?" I replied.
"A horse!"  He said.

From a spool of black thread.
Like I am Rumpelstiltskin or something.

"Sorry Max, I can't make a horse from this thread."
"YES YOU CAAAAAAAAAnnnnnn!!!!!"
"uuuuhhhhh...... no I caaaaaaaaaaaaaann't"

so funny.  I was just laughing inside, but secretly really enjoying the fact that he thought his momma was talented enough to spin a horse from a spool of black thread.

That will cost you your necklace.

so when he was watching Chitty Chitty Bang Bang a week or so later  ( and a few months back from now) he asked to be the bamboo guys.

"You gotta make me the bamboo guys"
"How?"
"with these (pointing to legs) and a bamboo stick"

I paused the show, studied their tassled knees and set off to The Magic Room.  I brought Max with me.  15 minutes later we finished them.

That will cost you your ring.

We practiced the choreography and did a lot of stick hopping and jumping.

Max and I happen to think that Me Ole Bamboo from Chitty Chitty and Step in Time from Mary Poppins are two of the most incredibly choreographed dances ever made.  (Can someone seriously make a work out video using the choreography from those dances?  Gee wiz!!!!)

Both Dick Van Dyke.
Both genius.

I sometimes worry about showing Max new movies, because I never know what ideas are going to pop into his head and what he will demand of me next.

Like when he was watching Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and he started asking me to skip to  the Oompa Loompas.....

Because seriously Max, if I am going to make you into a Oompa Loompa, it will cost you your first born child.

Even if you sneak into the forest and figure out my name.
