I have come to the conclusion that nearly all New Year's resolutions boil down to two things:
making our outsides smaller and our insides bigger.
The fire in me makes for an ambitious goal setter -- high ideals, lofty goals. The perfectionist in me gets sorely disappointed in myself if I don't live up to my expectations. Those two things don't work well together. It leads right to trouble. I have grand plans and huge ideas but I frustrate myself to no end not being able to pull them all off.. Mental constipation. Creative constipation. Blog posts like this one kill me. That's me, spinning spinning spinning.
With that in mind I have approached goals for this new year differently. I have tried to package them up into small words to focus on. Try to do something that will fall into those word categories daily/weekly/monthly.

love.
It sounds loftier this way, too general huh? I am excited to see how I can interpret and implement these words into my life. Just a new way to look at things this year. Specific goals are in the works.
And hopefully I will be bigger and smaller in all the right ways.
We have had a wonderful holiday vacation. Can't wait to share the details with you soon.

LOVE your couple photos! Great goal words to live by! YES!
I like this idea. Mine is a simple statement of "do what I want" I'll leave that to interpret as is convenient for me.
can't wait to see you guys next week!!
LOVE IT!!
I love the pictures!! New Years resolutions are great! New Beginnings. Actually every day is a new beginning... every week is a new beginning... I have to tell myself that, when my new years resolutions don't work as perfectly as I had planned. We look forward to seeing you soon!
Great idea. Seems so simple, yet it covers a lot.
I like this a lot.
great words!
welcome home~
Inger, you are so right. It is a daily effort. We must recommit every day. Big goals seem so much more possible that way.
OK, I love "love" #3. And I love the simplified approach. Here's another good one: SIMPLIFY.
