That is Schmeese trying to help his daddy with the plumbing under our very-old-but-new-to-us-turn-of-the-century farm sink in our newly remodeled laundry room. I scrubbed that thing for hours. h.o.u.r.s........ but now it shines. It cost us $80 at Second Chance Inc.I have great pictures of the before and after but I will not put them up now. This computer is driving me mad. It takes me five years to post something. Because it takes 3 years to upload my pictures, 1 year to edit the picture and another year to get it up onto this blog. It is sooooooo slooooooooooooooooooowwwww. I have a Mac desktop. At the time I got it, it was the thing. It was so the thing in fact that Shep had it in his studio in Provo. And you know if Shep had it, it was hard core.
Oh yes... and I still love this computer. It, however, is not loving the fact that I have, since purchase, had two children and therefore added 42,694 pictures onto the hard drive. I am constantly getting a message that says my start up disk is almost fulllllllll....... and then the other day it said that it WAS full and so I googled what that meant and it said my computer could crash anytime. ummm.......
Afraid, we went to Costco and bought an external hard drive this week. I just tried to figure it out tonight. It is telling me it is not compatible.
huh????
This is stressing me out. I cannot upload the couple hundred pictures I have on my camera because my hard drive is too full. I have so many great pictures just waiting for their stories to be told.....
Please be patient with me while I try and figure out all of this gobbledy gook.
Any computer people out there with advice??? And no, we can't afford a new computer right now.

ugh!!!!
i had the EXACT same experience (and have since gotten a new computer)...but for a long time i used an external and put iphoto on that, so the only time i could work with my photos was when i was plugged into the external.
i don't know about compatibility, though!
ugh, ugh, ugh is all i can say.
oh, the downside to our digital world...
go to the Mac store?
You can take it to Best Buy for a "tune-up" and advice on what to do. Not sure how much it costs though.

I'm sure you've already figured out the external, but you need to format it for a Mac... we are in the process of doing this with our old external. If you need help, let me know...Seth has a step by step email.
Good luck!
I wish I could help, because I KNOW your pictures are wonderful. I am glad I know how to LOOK at the blogs!
Hey tiffany -- I upload everything to adrive.com. It's free and it's nice knowing I have a backup...may not fix all your problems, but at least you won't lose everything...good luck!
Good luck! I can't wait to see all of your fun pictures.
Jason says, "Why don't you burn your pictures to CD?"
Hey Tiff,
We have an older Apple laptop and recently took it in for a tune-up. (To a computer repair store that is apple certified, or you could take it to an Apple store if you have one close by.) It was running so slow and some internet stuff just wasn't working right. All they had to do was update the software...I don't really know what that means but it took about an hour and it now works like new. It was a few hundred bucks but definitely cheaper than a new computer!
