celery green hot pads.

**at the national cathedral last weekend.

I have always thought that every ten years a couple is married, they should be able to re-register.

Since 2001:
*The celery-green-I-was-obsessed-with towels are in shrunken shreds and now used as rags. (have been replaced)
*I ended up giving away all of the candles I was gifted.  Why in the world did I even register for candles?  Someone tell me that!  They all gave me headaches, as most candles do.  But, they were that celery green color!  darn you celery green.  Gave every one of them away. DON'T register for candles, silly.  Register for a couple extra plates. You will need more than 6.
*All but one of the 6 original Rueckert juice glasses has broken.
*Pier One, one of our registries, is not at all my taste anymore. Isn't that funny?  I think the only thing I may still love from that P1 registry is the wicker picnic basket.
(Can I now register at Goodwill?? Anthro?  Terrain? Three Potato Four?)
*We don't use our George Foreman... did we even register for it? (we had to return 3 of them after the wedding -- hot item in 2001)
*I just sewed the replacement for our original ironing board cover last week.  It was well loved.
*We have replaced the vacuum.
*the blender.
*The DVD player twice.
*The TV was just barely replaced.  (and the LCD screen was just barely cracked by a little someone...hmmph)
*Kitchenaid replaced.

*We did not have to replace the Bolo Tie and Pendant Set given to us by a friend of the family in Arizona.

*Still have original mixer, waffle maker, ice cream maker, toaster, can opener, rice cooker.

*I still have a large bright super shiny silver frame in a box wedding present that I opened once.  anyone want it?  why do I have it?

*I am SOOOO entirely glad I registered for white dishes.  That was brilliant on my part.  I tell this to every registering bride I know now.  You will never regret the white dishes.

It's amazing that 10 years have gone by.  And here we are, with three little rascals and a fixer-upper 1977.  Livin' on love.

Hey Fancypants, let's get crazy and go out and get us some new hot pads.

in celery green.

Happy 10th Anniversary to the boy who makes me the happiest.

Happy 10th Anniversary!! So awesome. Love your family! Great idea about the registry and I wish I would have registered for white plates!! I currently am using a few sets of 5 or 6. Ha! Pier 1, hilarious for some reason. I loved Pier 1 back then. I never shop there anymore! Cheers to the happy couple!

Hey we have the same anniversary! Weird, I never knew... Soo Happy Anniversary.

Yeah I registered for some dumb stuff too....and just last Christmas I asked for and got the white dishes I should have registered for in the first place. But now I figure I know my taste a little better and at least got white dishes I really like. And I wish we had white towels too...dark brown was my color when we wedded. Dark brown and turquoise combo. Nice.

I'm glad I'm not the only one with registry regret. I really think people that young should not be allowed to register.

Happy Anniversary! I agree with registering every 10 years. I think everyone needs it. The year of our 10 year anniversary, my mother in law gave me a new bath rug and towels. I was SO excited and she just laughed. We all need a little update every now and then.

I totally agree with your every-10-year-registry idea! Where do I sign up? Actually, I'm like 3 registries behind by your calculations :)
Would you believe I still use our 34-year-old crockpot- such a new idea back then! and we have some "antique" towels too, though they're relegated to the camper.
Happy Anniversary, rookies :)

What a great post. Happy Anniversary! It is silly the things we want when we don't know better. I also think first time moms should get with moms who have been there and find out what they really need.
