things in my sink: wineberries

we inherited a treasure with 1977.  thousands of wineberries growing wild in our backyard.  thousands.  wineberries are a cousin to the raspberry, brought here to maryland to breed, but then grew wild and are now thought of as an infestation.

we are grateful for the infestation.

wineberries have nearly the same flavor as a raspberry, but are much smaller and have 50 times more seeds. every night in june we would each go out with a bowl and pick it to the tippy top.   We bottled up Swedish Queen's Jam (raspberry/blueberry) and it is really half seeds. Queen Seed Jam. high on fiber.

high on delicious.

piled high on dave's homemade whole wheat blueberry pancakes.
