Well........

It's not going to happen.

Can I just hibernate until this is all over?  I'll wake up to have the baby.

It is hard watching my poor David work his hands to the bone while I do what little I can while heavy with child.  I wish I could just unstrap my belly for a while.  I'll put it back on, I promise!  I just want to be able to move and lift and work hard and not feel like my stomach is going up my throat every time I try to bend over to pick something up or sand something or paint low to the ground.  Just for like two hours at a time.  That's all.  And just like three times a week.

David spent the weekend on the floors. They look absolutely GORGEOUS. But. Something happened and they didn't set up right.  It was either the product, the process or the precipitation.  I say blame it on the rain.

yeah yeah.

blame it on the stars
that did shine at night.

whatever you do..... (you finish it my early nineties friends)

it's obviously late again and I need to go to sleep.  When it gets late I start singing Milli Vanilli.  It's really weird.

and I am really kidding.

I just don't think I can post again until I am in this house.  Although that kitchen, I tell you.  That kitchen is looking spiffy.  And I polished up those butcherblock countertops with homemade spoon oil (the tutorial is on the sidebar).  Worked like a dream.

What do you think I should do on my birthday so I can stay positive and have a happy day?

Spend it sanding our floors BY HAND?  Miagi style? Because that is what I think we have to do next.  Only I don't have a karate championship to train for and Johnny isn't going to try and sweep my leg or put me in a body bag.

We spent our anniversary painting.

BLAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHhhhhh.

At least I HAVE a house, right?

Someday this blog will be back to normal.  sorry if I am such a drag.......................

I cannot wait to see it. It will be amazing! You both a such champs and your third boy is already learning the value of manual labor. He's well on his way to becoming a real man. (so important--no pink handed princes in that family)

I just want to fly my pregnant belly to MD and give you a big hug right now!! Maybe turn up some NSync- "Bye, Bye, Bye" and Ricki Martin- "She Bangs" and dance until we go into labor. Actually, that wouldn't be a good idea because the babes need some more cooking, but you get the idea! I love you!! It will all work out. Seriously, if anyone can get through this it's the girl I look up to!!!

Hang in there Tiffany! It'll all be over before you know it. We have our entire downstairs ripped out right now because we had a water leak. We are replacing all the flooring and it's been a nightmare. So, I have a small taste of what your going through. Except, I'm not pregnant and having to deal with it. Good luck and try to just enjoy the process. I'm sure that's hard to do!

I want to come up for your birthday!! I will watch your children and you can go up to Terrain. Or we could all go up and one plays with kids while the other goes in. We could take turns. I will buy you lunch and we can laugh and talk and eat. It will be awesome, what do you say???????

oh man, by hand? With toothbrush sized sanders too, huh? Can't just rent a big round power sander? Guess it'd go against the grain, eh? Oh man, what a bummer. Dude, just hibernate for that birthday. Go cafe hopping in the nearest place. Eat an appetizer you always wanted to try from like 5 different restaurants. Let your friends pay for them, one restaurant at a time! It would be a fabulously food-stuffing and therefore heavenly and successful day. AhhH! SANDING!
Good luck sister. May the force, and good sandpaper be with you. I'll bet you're ripped, huh? Yes She-ra, you are aren't you! BY THE POWER OF GRAYSKULL!

It was definitely the precipitation! The same thing happened to us a few years ago when we added an addition to our home. Our weekend floor refinishing project took THREE WEEKS!! I thought I was going to die. The fumes were so bad that we had to live outside in our camper for the entire time. It rained for three weeks straight. It seems like we had to put a different type of chemical on the floors to get them to harden enough to sand. This was after we'd tried to sand it numerous times and ended up with a sticky gummy mess. My advice is to call a professional that frequently uses the product you are using. They will know just what to tell you to do. We asked around, but it was like the third or fourth person who finally told us that it was the precipitation and they told us exactly what to do to finish it up. They turned out beautifully, but I still break out in a sweat if someone suggests refinishing wood floors.

Oh, I forgot to tell you that we had no hookups for our camper, since it was just parked out on the street. We couldn't get in the house to use our own bathrooms because of the blasted sticky floors. So we'd have to go to the neighbors to use the bathroom and shower. Nothing like wandering around the cul-de-sac in your PJs. We laugh about it now, but...

linda, yes, no pink handed princes. so funny.

oh shauna, don't I wish. Do you know how often I wish I had a friend close to shake it with?

JEss, you crack me up. Can you picture us sanding with toothbrushes -- ha ha! I LOVE your appetizer idea --- that would actually be really fun.

Nichole - brilliant, how can I pass up that idea! I will email you...

Julie, you make me feel SO much better. We spent tonight sanding and it was SUCH A PAIN!!!!! It's the up and down, getting excited and then getting let down that is so hard, don't you think? Just when you think you are almost there.....BAM, you have bubbly rough hardwood floors. Glad to know you got through the process alive!
