Primary Misheard Lyrics:
"I hope that Commie's on a mission"
(apparently I was more politically aware than most others my age)
"By this shallmenno... ye are my disciples"
(Never did figure out what a shallmenno was....)
And a few confessions about primary songs:
You know that song, Oh what do you do in the Summertime? I would get really excited about the drink lemonade part. I think it was one of my favorites because of that.
Who decided to put the word vexed in the second verse of Jesus Once was a Little child? I've always thought it was funny... vexed.... hmmm...
I still get the verses of I am a child of God mixed up. And I always want to do that descant on every verse when apparently it is only supposed to be done on the third.

I love how you were thinking about the commies during church! I always knew you were smarter than the rest of us!
I usd to think saying God was bad in any context. I didn't know what vain meant, so I just avoided it all the time. When we would sing I Am a Child of God I wouldn't sing the word God.
Cami --- That is hilarious!!! I laughed out loud. I can just see a little primary child's mind so flustered about something like that. Too cute.
How do you not remember banging as hard as you could to Book of Mormon Stories? Loved it!
My niece, Ava, sang two days ago, "I am a child of God, and so, my knees are grey..."
We have some family laugh moments on Hymn #96 "Dearest Children" when we get to "CHERRIES HURT YOU!"
Shauna --- banging? I did all the hand actions. I did pop up on the sunbeams though.
Jennilyn,
did you make a quilt using that theme? hilarious. I will never sing that song the same now.
I was recently sitting in the back of the Primary Room when the 7th Article of Faith was being discussed. When they got to "gift of tongues" two CTR8's in the back of the room each stuck out their tongue at each other as if they were trying to figure out how to give them away.
HAHAHA!!! I LOVE THIS POST!!! I totally thought it was "shallmenno" too and I was always so perplexed about that. A funny one my family always sings is in I Am a Child of God... "Has given me an earthly home, with parents kind of weird!"
I just got Lane singing "I like to look for angels, whenever there is rain" instead of rainbows. I didn't correct her because I thought it was cute! I thought of this post!
