Mr and Mrs

I took a few pictures of Allison when she came out of the temple, but this one was my favorite. It's a very Allison sort of face. I didn't realize it until I saw it and then I knew it. Did that make any sense? It's the tongue between the teeth.

She was such a gorgeous bride walking out of the Newport Beach Temple just after being sealed to her husband. Caught up with old roommate Jenny Jones (not Jones anymore, but Jenny Jones it will always be) pictured on far left, and Allison's darling sister, Merideth, on far right. I kind of love that we are all color coordinated in this picture.

A little Modern-Millie-Tapioca-ish.
Of course I was busting a move on the dance floor with the other womenfolk. You've never seen people dance at a wedding like they danced at Allison's wedding. EVERYONE and their Grandma (literally) were on that dance floor. It was a site to behold.

In case you forgot, I love dancing

Love it so much in fact, that the last wedding I was at I was again, busting a move on the dance floor but I happened to be in Maryland and in attendance was nearly half of our ward. In the hallway just off the dance floor an older sister in the ward pulled me aside and said,

"Sister So-and-So and I were watching you out there and I just wanted to remind you that you are the Bishop's wife."

Now, this sister and I have a good relationship and she reemphasized that she was kidding, but still. seriously.

So you can imagine my extreme elation when I saw Allison's mother (pictured in the background of the above picture) out on the dance floor getting very jiggy with it. Wife to a former Bishop herself and boy could she move. She and her twin sister were out there like they owned the place. I loved it. Love love loved it. What a great example to me to remain true to who you are even though you may be thrown into a new title or position. Her energy and excitement didn't leave much to be desired.

So, good times were had by all.

A beautiful night, a beautiful couple, a beautiful lesson.

That comment literally made me gasp out loud! You should dance. I realize that the person was joking. (I didn't say that, DID I?) I think if you didn't get out there and dance, we would worry and think there was something wrong.

I always love to watch people who are dancing and not worrying about who is watching them. It is so freeing and just fun!

Thanks for posting these. Our photographer hasn't finished the pictures yet so these are the first wedding pictures I've seen.

Honestly, my favorite part(besides marrying Paul and having family and friends there) was the dancing. For me it made the wedding feel like a real celebration. I had soooo much fun and was really happy that you and Jen were there. It meant the world to me.

My parents just entered the MTC on Monday so my mom probably felt like the wedding was her last chance for a while to show her stuff on the dance floor!

That comment made me gasp also. Man. I mean, you weren't grinding out there or anything... or..? :)

I clicked on the link to that older post about how much you love dancing. I will never forget that post-- I LOVE it and forwarded it to many friends. Hilarious.

yeah. I hear you. but remember you can also take that comment however you want to. Yes, you are the bishops wife. so what?

Your right Linda -- maybe I should take it like "I am the bishop's wife - it is my DUTY to teach all of you how to dance."

ha ha.

I was not offended by that sister's comment at all, but it did make me wonder if anyone else at the wedding was thinking more seriously about that...

Sarah, I wasn't grinding. Remember, Dave was out of town??? Or else you know....

Yeah right. Not only is the Bishop not a dancer, he is not stupid either.

"keep it calm down there"
- what movie Sarah?

Al-
I didn't know they were leaving so soon! Wow, what a send off then. That is great that you were able to be married before they left and equally great that your mom could go to Funkytown before devoting herself to the Work. Capital W.
